Airdrie's Only Subprime Powersports Financing — While other Airdrie powersports shops focus on service and new units, we specialize in financing used motorcycles, ATVs, and side-by-sides for buyers who have been turned down elsewhere.
What Powersports Inventory Is Available in Airdrie?
Our inventory rotates continuously — motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs from major brands, priced based on current market data and available for financing the same day.
We are a used powersports specialist, not a franchise new-unit dealer. That means our inventory is sourced from real sellers at market prices, not inflated by franchise overhead. It also means inventory rotates — what you see today may not be there next week.
Motorcycles
Our motorcycle inventory rotates regularly — we typically carry cruisers, touring bikes, and standard motorcycles from major brands including Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Suzuki. Spring and summer inventory is heaviest as riders upgrade. Fall brings motivated sellers and better pricing. Call ahead or check our online inventory for current stock. If you have a specific model in mind that we do not currently have, let us know — we actively source inventory based on buyer demand.
ATVs
Used ATVs from major manufacturers — Can-Am, Polaris, Honda, Yamaha — rotate through our inventory seasonally. Spring through early fall is prime ATV buying season in Alberta. Utility ATVs (Rancher, Outlander, Sportsman) are the most consistent inventory category. Sport ATVs appear periodically. If you are looking for something specific, a phone call or inquiry lets us match you with incoming units before they hit the lot.
Side-by-Sides and UTVs
Side-by-sides are Alberta's fastest-growing powersports category, driven by growth in recreational riding at McLean Creek and Ghost Lake. We carry utility UTVs (Can-Am Defender, Polaris Ranger) and sport UTVs (RZR, Maverick) when available. UTV inventory tends to turn quickly — if you see one listed, come sooner rather than later. We also accept UTV trade-ins, so fresh units appear regularly.
Seasonal Inventory
Our inventory composition shifts with the seasons. Spring (March-May): heavy motorcycle and ATV arrivals as winter storage units come out. Summer (June-August): balanced inventory, active buying season. Fall (September-October): motivated sellers offer deals as riding season winds down — good buying opportunity. Winter (November-February): lighter inventory overall, but the buyers who shop in winter face less competition and often get the best deals.
How Does Airdrie Powersports Financing Work?
Apply online in 3 minutes or walk in — same-day decisions, test rides available for qualified buyers, delivery to Calgary at no charge.
The financing process at our Airdrie lot is straightforward. Apply, get a decision, choose your unit, arrange insurance, and ride — or have it delivered. Most deals close the same day or the following morning.
Apply Online or In Person
You can start your application online in 3 minutes at shifthappensautosales.ca/financing, or walk in and we will complete the application with you on-site. Online applications are reviewed within a few hours during business hours. Walk-in applications are typically processed the same day. Either path leads to the same lender network and the same approval process.
Same-Day Decisions
Most applications receive a decision within 2-4 hours during business hours. Our lender network processes powersports applications through the same channels as automotive — fast decisioning is the norm, not the exception. Complex files (self-employed, irregular income, recent credit events) may take an additional day as we work through more lender options. We keep you informed throughout.
Test Rides for Qualified Buyers
Once you have a financing decision and you are serious about a specific unit, we arrange test rides by appointment. Motorcycles require a valid Alberta motorcycle endorsement (Class 6 or 6D) on your driver's license. ATV test rides are available on-site. We do not do unaccompanied test rides — a team member is always present. Come ready to ride if you want to finalize your decision on the spot.
Delivery to Calgary and Area
We offer free delivery to the Calgary area for financed powersports vehicles. This means you can complete your entire transaction — application, approval, paperwork — and have the unit delivered to your door without making the trip to Airdrie. Delivery is by appointment, Monday through Saturday. For units going to Calgary, expect delivery within 1-2 days of financing approval.
Can You Trade In a Vehicle Toward a Powersports Purchase?
Yes — car-to-motorcycle and motorcycle-to-ATV trades are both handled at our Airdrie lot. Positive equity applies as a down payment; negative equity is addressed transparently before you commit.
Trade-ins are one of the most underutilized tools for powersports buyers who are short on cash for a down payment. If your vehicle has equity, that equity is real money toward your next purchase.
Car to Motorcycle Trades
Trading a car toward a motorcycle is the most common cross-category trade we handle. If you are selling your daily driver to switch to a motorcycle (or adding a motorcycle while keeping your car), the trade-in process is the same as any vehicle purchase. We appraise your car based on current market conditions and apply the equity directly to the motorcycle purchase. Bring your vehicle registration, any loan payout information, and a recent service history.
Motorcycle to ATV Trades
Riders who want to shift from street riding to off-road often trade their motorcycle toward an ATV. Motorcycle trade-in values depend on brand, model, year, mileage, and condition. Well-maintained Harleys, Japanese cruisers, and sport bikes all have active resale markets. We provide a market-based appraisal — call with your bike's details for a preliminary estimate before you come in.
Negative Equity Handling
If you owe more on your trade-in than it is worth, that negative equity does not automatically kill the deal — but it needs to be handled transparently. In some cases, negative equity can be rolled into the new financing on a powersports unit. This depends on the lender's LTV limits and your income. We run the numbers honestly: if rolling the negative equity creates an unworkable payment, we will tell you before you commit, not after.
Trade Appraisal Process
Bring the vehicle to us — we do a visual inspection, check the odometer, run a vehicle history report, and compare against current wholesale market data. The appraisal is no-obligation and takes about 20-30 minutes. You leave knowing exactly what your vehicle is worth in trade toward any unit on our lot. No pressure to buy on the same visit — the appraisal is valid for 7 days.
Where Can You Ride Near Airdrie?
McLean Creek OHV Area is the flagship destination for Airdrie ATV and UTV riders. Ghost Lake, Waiporous Valley, and the broader foothills offer additional terrain within 60-90 minutes.
Airdrie's position — just north of Calgary on Highway 2, and close to the foothills and Rockies — makes it one of the best-positioned communities in Alberta for powersports access. You can be riding in less than an hour from the Airdrie city limits.
McLean Creek OHV Area
Alberta's largest open OHV riding area is located approximately 50 km southwest of Calgary near the junction of Highway 549 and 762. McLean Creek is free to access with OHV registration and spans thousands of hectares of crown land with trails ranging from beginner-friendly two-tracks to challenging hill climbs. It is the primary destination for the vast majority of Airdrie and Calgary ATV and UTV riders. Trail conditions vary by season — late spring and early fall are typically the best conditions.
Ghost Lake and Ghost River Wilderness Area
The Ghost Lake area northwest of Cochrane offers off-road riding on designated trails within the Ghost Watershed Wildlife Management Area. Access requires an OHV permit for designated areas. The terrain is more rugged and technical than McLean Creek — better suited to experienced riders on capable machines. The Ghost Reservoir area also offers scenic riding along the Bow River valley.
Waiporous Valley
Waiporous, located north of Cochrane via Highway 1A and the Ghost Road, is another popular off-road destination for the Calgary and Airdrie riding community. Waiporous offers a mix of easy gravel roads and more challenging forest trails. The area is heavily used on summer weekends — weekday rides are more peaceful and you share the trails with fewer riders.
Big Hill Springs Provincial Park and Area
Big Hill Springs is a day-use park located just west of Cochrane along Highway 1A — it is not an OHV area, but the broader region to the north and west has trails that connect to riding areas. Riders from Airdrie who want the shortest drive to off-road terrain often explore the range road network northwest of the city for short rides before heading to McLean Creek or Ghost for more committed off-road sessions.
Airdrie Powersports Dealer FAQs
Can I test ride a powersports vehicle before finalizing financing?
Yes. Test rides are available by appointment for serious buyers. We ask that you come in with a valid motorcycle or ATV endorsement on your Alberta driver's license before testing a motorcycle or OHV. Bring your license, arrive during business hours, and let us know in advance which unit you are interested in so we can have it ready. For ATVs and side-by-sides, we can arrange a brief demonstration ride on-site.
What powersports brands are typically in stock at your Airdrie location?
Our inventory rotates seasonally — spring brings more motorcycles and ATVs as owners list their units, while fall brings snowmobiles and late-season deals. We typically carry Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Suzuki motorcycles. For ATVs and UTVs, Can-Am, Polaris, and Honda are the most common. Inventory changes weekly — call us or check our live inventory listing for current stock. We also source specific units on request if you have a particular model in mind.
Is there a service department at the Airdrie powersports location?
We are a used powersports sales and financing specialist — our focus is connecting buyers with the right unit and the right financing. We do not operate an in-house service department. For post-purchase service and maintenance, we can refer you to qualified local shops. Motorcycle service in the Airdrie area is available through several dealerships in Calgary that service the major brands we carry.
Can I trade my car for a motorcycle at your Airdrie lot?
Yes. We accept vehicle trade-ins toward powersports purchases. If your car has positive equity, that equity applies as a down payment on the powersports unit. If you owe more on the car than it is worth, we can discuss whether that negative equity can be rolled into the new financing — this depends on the specific lender and your credit profile. Bring your car to us for an appraisal, or call with the year, make, model, and mileage for a preliminary estimate.
Are prices negotiable on used powersports units?
Our prices are priced competitively based on current market data for each unit. We are not a negotiation-heavy environment — we price fairly upfront rather than marking up to leave room for haggling. That said, if you find a comparable unit locally at a lower price, bring the listing and we will review it. We would rather adjust than lose a deal to a legitimately lower-priced competitor.
Do you offer winter storage for purchased powersports vehicles?
We do not operate a long-term storage facility on-site. For winter storage of a motorcycle or ATV, the Calgary and Airdrie area has several dedicated vehicle storage facilities that offer climate-controlled and heated options. We can point you to local options. Proper winterization — fuel stabilizer, battery tender, tire pressure management, and a breathable cover — is the foundation regardless of where you store the unit.
