How does BC registration work for a Golden resident buying from Alberta?
Once we deliver the vehicle, you register and insure it at ICBC and get a BC out-of-province inspection done at a CVSE-approved shop in Golden or Revelstoke. We provide all the Alberta transfer documents ICBC needs. If you register the vehicle in B.C., ICBC collects B.C. PST at registration. On a passenger vehicle bought from a dealer it is 7% under $55,000 (rising in steps above that), charged on the depreciated purchase price — the 12% rate applies to private sales.
